About Michael Pledger

Michael J. Pledger is an attorney licensed to practice in Texas, the federal courts of the Southern District of Texas, the United States Tax Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He has specialized in bankruptcy law since 1979.

Mr. Pledger has handled frequent appeals from Bankruptcy Court and successfully argued the landmark case of Grubbs vs. Houston First American Savings in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Pledger is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in business bankruptcy law and consumer bankruptcy law. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Texas since 1976, and is a 1979 graduate of the University of Houston Bates College of Law.
